Protecting Monaca Since 18--
Monaca is a small community approximately 25 miles north of Pittsburgh. The Monaca #4 Volunteer Fire Department services approximately 6,000 people within its jursidiction. On average, the department can expect to run around 130 calls per year. In addition to Monaca #4, the community of Monaca is also serviced by two other departments. Monaca #4 is stationed on the Monaca heights, also known as "on the hill". In addition to serving its community, Monaca #4 also responds to neighboring communities for such services as R.I.T. and Air Supply. The department is all volunteer with approximately 25 members on its roster.

Structural Fire Class
Several students from stations 56, 57, and 58 completed a structural burn class this past weekend taught by Beaver Falls Fire Chief Mark Stowe. In addition to the students from the Monaca Departments, there were also members present from such departments as New Brighton and Pulaski. Photos of this training will be made available in the gallery in the upcoming weeks.

Spring Run Apartments
Stations 56, 57, and 58 were dispatched to the 700 block of the Spring Run Apartments around 2:30 a.m.. Upon arrival, the second floor was emitting smoke. With several crews in the building, the fire was quickly extinquished. After a thorough investigation was concluded, it was discovered that the fire started in a second floor bedroom due to an electric hair curler being left unattened on a wooden dresser.
